Hello!My name is Gary DeVilbiss and I am a Junior Mechanical Engineering Student studying at Quinnipiac University. I am very interested in design, hands-on work, physics, aviation, and aerospace engineering.I have had the opportunity to participate in a full-time internship where I worked in a manufacturing shop that focused on precisely machining medical devices. The fast-paced work environment, many types of machines, and various processes involved with metal forming have given me first-hand experience with working in the manufacturing industry.Another experience I have is working with some physics professors at my college to research the behavior of electrically trapped particles. I have created models in Solidworks, used simulations to predict how a particle behaves under certain parameters, and learned the basics of soldering circuits.Currently, I am focusing on my studies, the research project, and working as a Study Table Mentor for Quinnipiac University's Learning Commons. This position as a Study Table Mentor gives me plenty of chances to use my communication skills to teach the basics of physics to students currently enrolled in the physics classes.Here is some more information about myself. I grew up in Springfield, OH, and am currently living in Hamden, CT. I am also a member of the Quinnipiac Honors Program and the Quinnipiac Engineering Honors Socieity, eta Pi (we will be joining Tau Beta Pi soon!). Some of my hobbies and personal interests include videogames, coding, creating models for videogames, learning, and art.
