I am part of a small team that is establishing Service Design in the organisation. We are doing some exemplar projects to better understand how Service Design fits and demonstrate the value of it.

A varied role where I was part of different multi-disciplinary teams. I have worked on Agile projects in various phases, predominantly Discovery and Alpha but with some progressing to Live. This has meant hands-on experience in User Research, Delivery Management, Service Design and Product Management.I worked on an Organisation Design project looking at how to improve Data & Insights capability across the council and CCG union. We used a Human-Centred Design approach to understand the current service model and create a future state service blueprint for Data & Insights. This is part of a wider effort to design the overall commissioning model for the combined organisation, based on evidence acquired through qualitative and quantitative research methods.I took the lead on the design elements of the project, assisted and supported by Service Designers from FutureGov, who led the project overall. Before this, I was Technical Development Lead, managing a team of 2 other developers. The Service Design team worked with FutureGov to develop design capability through skills transfer and training, while working on some exemplar projects together.I provided technical development expertise to the team and guided decision making where technology solutions might be required. I maintained the backlog of development work for the team and facilitated sprint planning and retrospectives.I had the Delivery Manager role in a collaborative Discovery project funded by MHCLG that explored how local authorities can make integration with GOV.UK Pay easier and reusable for everyone in local government. This involved working with the GOV.UK Pay team and other Local Authorities. Discovery outputs are published on the Local Digital website.I've worked hard at developing my Service Design skills, advocating for the Service design approach within the organisation and taking any opportunities to practice the skills I could find.
