Cutting his teeth in the big, bad world of Journalism as an anchor, reporter, field producer and chief-of-staff for a daily-broadcasted TV news, Briz 31, in Brisbane, Gary was also part of the team that redeveloped of QUT's School of Media and Journalism's online newsletter (Communique Online). This also included a stint as a radio journalist at 4EB Radio.Volunteering at the Sydney Olympics 2000 as a press assistant, Gary handled press conferences, media queries and dispensed results to an international pool of journalists. Upon his return to Singapore, Gary helped set up Sportstown(e-citizen), handled public relations for the Singapore Sports Council and Singapore Polytechnic, worked as a copywriter, conducted photo shoots, and revamped Singapore Polytechnic’s campus newspaper, fullStop, including training a team of hungry student reporters.Spending more than three years as a business and political journalist, he even found time to write about wine and travel. Comfortable being both in front and behind the camera, Gary married his hobby to his career as a wedding and events photographer, and actor. His acting credits include films like Being Human, various MediaCorp and JTeam drama serials (True Files, Police and Thief, Without Warning, Happily Ever After etc), TVCs (Singtel, Starhub ADSL, HSBC, Mocca) and plays with theVoice Productions and other theatre companies. In 2008, he helped conceptualise and co-write a book for eduNet – Class Dismissed: Lessons Beyond the Classroom.Having performed in various school and corporate shows, Gary also conducted various corporate role-plays with Philips, Civil Service College, the Home Team Academy, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Roffey Park.In 2010, Gary co-wrote and co-directed a series of performances for the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2010. A drama trainer with inwardBound and Play Inc, and a leadership trainer with Kingmaker Consultancy, Gary has moved on and is now shaping, nurturing and educating lives with the Ministry of Education.
