Back doing entrepreneurial-ish things after 15 years immersed in other people's startups, building startup communities, and entrepreneurship-based economic development. The first 10+ years were spent building the Waterloo startup community—first with my own initiatives and then starting Communitech's startup group and overseeing all startup initiatives there for four years as it transformed from a local industry association into an innovation centre. Startup Genome said the region grew to have the second-highest density of startups in the world. I doubt it, but we did pretty well. Then everyone wanted to boost economic development through startups, so I consulted with various national, regional and local organizations. Startup Canada gave me its first lifetime achievement award for work with startup communities in Ontario. Now I create content and do SEOish stuff for our websites, which get millions of visitors a year. Also host "Two Minutes in the Garden"—a podcast on all the usual platforms.
