Directed IEM's preparedness, response, air operations and mitigation support work at the state and local level. Involved in starting up new recovery support projects after Hurricanes Florence and Michael. More recent projects included coronavirus planning, hazard mitigation plan updates, preparedness work with mass transit providers, COOP planning, THIRA development, regional mass fatality planning, integrating DAFN considerations into plans, resource management planning, recovery planning, CCTA planning/training/exercise, hazardous materials studies and airport/airfield assessments.Our State, Local, and International Preparedness Directorate is responsible for providing capability assessment/gap analysis, emergency and homeland security planning, training, and exercise support to federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, and private sector customers. Our team was FEMA's leading preparedness planning technical assistance provider for 10 years. IEM staff are recognized as leaders in providing BCP/COOP services, hazardous materials assessments, risk assessments, developing well-integrated and comprehensive emergency plans and exercises, and enhancing disaster air operations preparedness across the country.
