Execution of multidisciplinary turnkey projects for augmentation of facilities in railway workshops, Production units and maintenance depots

Spearhead the entire coordination of post-contract activities for supply, commissioning, inspection and prove-out of the machines for Indian Railways.

Country Incharge of Export of Railway Rolling Stock, Spares and railroad consultancy services for Myanmar, Bangladesh and Ghana. The value of these export projects is USD 95 million.

This is a Central Government University & the only national institute in the area of Youth development. It offers Masters in 6 disciplines besides Doctorate programs, short-term training programs, community projects, research activities, publications and youth data repository.

Led international youth exchange programs with size ranging from 20 to 200 comprising of youths from IIT, IIM, AIIMS, Finance, law, social and volunteering sector, sports, cultural, national awardees etc to various countries. Also, spearheaded the activities of youth hostels, volunteering sector, scout and guides.

The book was shared with other training centres and is extensively used by new recruits and pilots in the organisation.Led the transformational change which resulted in getting International Accreditation for three standards, namely Quality Management, Environmental Management and Occupation Health and Safety Assurance.Moreover, addressed a century old safety issue in Indian Railways by adopting certain frugal innovative steps for which there were lot of apprehensions within the organisation.Patratu is a remote and formidable tribal area with difficult working conditions. I had worked there earlier as a middle management officer and was familiar with the challenging and primitive circumstances. In addition to my highly demanding official duties I felt the need for welfare measures for the uplift of the place and people living there who have virtually nobody to look forward to. Some of the community project initiatives include setting up of a Recreation Centre with modern amenities and a Garden with swings and fountain, setting up a financial institution and upgradation of medical and educational facilities. Things were not quite smooth. There were resistances from various corners which include seasoned trade unions but due to persistence and support from the staff I could tackle those issues firmly by a right mix of compassion and diplomacy.These accomplishments might appear to be small but meant a lot to the people there and had given me immense pleasure and satisfaction and makes me feel proud. Rail Coach Factory is a manufacturing unit of Indian Railways which manufactures railway passenger cars. In this assignment I was responsible for the overall Production and Furnishing of 1200 Railway Passenger Carriages in a year for meeting the demand over Indian Railways and a work-force of 1750 staff was at my command. In this assignment I was responsible for the overall Production and Furnishing of 1200 Railway Passenger Carriages in a year for meeting the demand over Indian Railways and a work-force of 1750 staff was at my command. More than 1400 passenger carriages were turned out which was a record in the history of the Factory and 20 percent more than the earlier highest ever production.In this assignment I also led an Indian Government delegation for international trade negotiations for export of railroad passenger cars and technologies. A responsibility emanating out of it was that I was the Project in-charge of these first ever export assignment of passenger cars from Indian Railways. As a team player I was also actively involved in indigenous production of State of the art Stainless steel Carriages and its Bogies which were much superior to the conventional carriages being produced till then. These modern carriages and bogies were being manufactured in India for the first time and design technology was imported from overseas. These carriages are now running in the nations pride Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains.As new types of stainless steel carriages were manufactured in the Indian Railways for the first time new Machines and Plant were required to be procured. This included procurement of both indigenous and other sophisticated imported machines such as Laser cutting machines automatic welding robotic plant heavy duty road cum rail vehicle etc. The Installation and commissioningof these Machines to the tune of 6 Millions US was successfully completed under my leadership.I received the highest honour in my organisation i.e. National Award by Minister of Railways for bringing about a complete transformation in the work culture resulting in enhanced outturn in the workshop.
