I recently graduated The University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in electrical engineering and a Management Sciences Option. I was awarded a scholarship for First in Class Engineering and graduated on the Dean’s Honours List and with Distinction. Hard-working and detail-oriented are key qualities in defining who I am. At Waterloo, I focused my academic coursework on power systems analysis, high voltage engineering and power system protection. As a young professional with a passion for energy and the determination to make a lasting impact, I’m particularly interested in the role of renewable energy in the global energy transformation and microgrid technology. In my final year, I worked with Waterloo’s Institute for Sustainable Energy to design a solar lighting system for health clinics in refugee settlements and peri-slum areas in Northern Uganda. I have gained work experience in several fields during my bachelor’s degree including education, information technology, software development, energy management and electrical consulting. This experience provided me with a multitude of technical skills and a strong foundation for my professional development. As well, I am skilled at problem solving and analytical thinking. I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that fosters innovation, growth and continuous learning. Prioritized long-term goals of mine are to develop a career in the electric power industry and later go back to school for an MBA.
