As the Senior Video Producer, I head up our small but very capable video team, as part of the greater design and marketing teams at Pepperstone. After a little over a year as Pepperstone's sole video editor and producer, I was promoted into this role to focus more on Pepperstone's video strategy and take on more advanced projects, be they produced in-house, with external agencies or a combination of the two. I conduct research on current trends both inside and outside of the industry, analyse video performance on various channels and optimise Pepperstone's video output accordingly. I work with a wide range of stakeholders to produce some of the most cutting edge video content in the Australian CFD industry, lead the video team and make awesome videos every day - be they shot in the in-house studio, live-streamed to multiple platforms simultaneously or animated in 2D or 3D, I do it all.

I founded indie game school to make indie game development an achievable reality for anyone - including myself. We ran affordable online short courses, taught by industry veterans using the best tools in the business. Our learners were shown how to build their own games from scratch without code, using the powerful free game engine Unity and publish to most current game platforms in use, from iOS to XBox. Achievements- I managed the entire operation including student and instructor management, online marketing through Web 2.0/Social media presence as well as web design, online marketplace management for almost 4,000 students.- our course ‘Designing an FPS with Unity and Playmaker’ ran between January 2014 and November 2023 received enthusiastic reviews from learners.

I do my absolute best to ensure the happiness of anyone using Stile. I do everything from personally answering support requests to creating (and adhering to!) a customer support & success strategy. I write technical support content and blog posts on modern pedagogy, create videos for teachers and look after our Stile Learning Community. I design lessons, train staff and maintain vital relationships with customers and partners.

I create the majority of Stile's video, photography and audio content. I look after every stage of the production process, from scoping out gear needs and liaising with talent, to shooting/lighting and setting up audio, editing, motion graphics and sourcing freelancers where required, I'm across the whole video and audio production workflow, and tend to work on multiple projects at any given time, producing both educational and promotional content. My main tools are the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop and Illustrator.I also create the sound design for Stile's interactive simulations, using a blend of field recordings, synthesis and stock sounds to come up with unique and fun sounds, from short music loops made in Ableton Live to layered sound effects. I then write the code (JavaScript) to put the sound in the simulations as well.

Laverton, Vic

At the Defence International Training Centre (DITC) in Laverton, VIC, a unit of the Australian Defence College (ADC), I was responsible for implementing eLearning solutions and integrating educational technology into the classroom. Through my initiative in the field, DITC has become the forerunner in blended learning of all twelve sub-units of ADC. Achievements- I was awarded a First Assistant Secretary International Policy Commendation for my efforts as a language instructor and blended learning expert in May 2013.- I implemented DITC’s first LMS and have championed its use ever since. It is now used on all our courses and I am responsible for its content design and organisation.

Between the end of my contract and the beginning of my full-time employment at Defence, I was employed as a casual academic English language instructor (EAP – English for Academic Purposes) at REW, Melbourne. Achievements- I received very positive feedback on my teaching from students, in particular my ability to explain complex linguistic concepts with a range of easily understandable instructions.- I designed learning materials, which I was able to share with my colleagues. These materials are still in use today.

My first foray into running a business was CELTS Melbourne – Customised English Language Tutoring Services - which specialised in helping adult migrants fill the gaps in their knowledge of the English language. This was completed by conducting an in-depth analysis of customers’ linguistic abilities and providing customised personal tuition.Achievements-I created my own WordPress-based website and logo, which also included an advertising campaign. Within days, I was getting calls and was serving my first customers within three weeks.- I also started using the popular LMS Moodle to support my one-on-one tutoring which served as my introduction to using learning management systems to support face-to-face learning. Not only was I able to provide a handy area for links my students could use to further their learning but I also could create quizzes for them to test themselves or record their pronunciation – I could then use that recording to provide personalised feedback to them.

I taught at AEON Central Japan, Aichi, Japan – Japan’s largest chain of English Conversation Schools. I facilitated English language lessons to hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels during my time at AEON. Japan’s demanding work culture further shaped my personal work ethic. Achievements- Several students specifically requested to have their lesson times changed so that they could be in my class. Feedback received was this was due to my knowledge, competence and positive classroom experience.- A constant part of working at AEON consisted of conducting student counselling. I was able to bridge cultural and linguistic barriers and help my students on an individual level. It was evident that I was approachable, trusted and ultimately built confidence in my students.
