My career goal is to work in the sports industry, either in the fields of sports media or sports management. I am extremely interested in sports media/journalism, sports business, contract/business law, and just about everything else related to the sports industry. I am actively seeking internships related to sports business and/or journalism and believe that my passion for these fields is unlike most. As someone currently balancing two majors and the extreme time commitment of being a year-round student journalist, I believe I possess the work ethic and time management skills that are necessary to succeed at a fast-paced company. In my final year at the Daily Bruin, I cover UCLA's three largest sports: football, men's basketball, and women's basketball. I have built a noticeable Twitter/X profile that accumulates more than 1 million views per month, became the host and editor of the "Out of Bounds" podcast, and a host for DBTV. DBTV is brand new, and I led the charge to make Out of Bounds a full video show for the first time, proving that I'm always working to expand my responsibilities and impact at the paper. In addition to the Daily Bruin, I'm a member of UCLA's Den Operations, a student-run organization that partners with UCLA Athletics' Marketing team to increase attendance and energy surrounding UCLA sports. With Den Operations, I started in the Outreach Committee and worked with on-campus organizations to increase student turnout. Last year, I decided to switch to the Creative Content Committee so I could improve my graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop. I now design graphics using Adobe Photoshop that are used to advertise UCLA sporting events on social media. As shown by my decision to switch committees, I am always eager to learn new things that I believe can make me a more useful member of a team.Recently I joined UCLA's Bruin Sports Business Association and immediately became a member of the organization's executive board as a journalist. The organization hosts weekly guest talks from influential figures in the sports industry, and the articles that the club produces contribute to our efforts of attracting future guest speakers.I also recently became the podcast editor for UCLA's Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies. The role requires making second-by-second edits on Adobe Audition for the 70-minute episodes.
