As part of a second internship at the University of Glasgow, I am extending the work I carried out in my MSci project. I am adding extra functionality, including more advanced code emission and analysis techniques, to the automatically parallelising compiler with a view to it being written about in a future publication.

I worked in an agile development team on a large project used by customers and employees of the firm. I wrote programs using SQL, Java and Xquery among other things. A normal day would involve any of the following: requirements gathering, writing documentation, attending meetings, giving demonstrations of my work, writing code, writing integration tests.

While working for the Glasgow Interactive Systems Group, I was charged with writing a set of android applications that explored thermal feedback in mobile interface design. I then,using the software, carried out experiments involving users that explored a set of hypotheses. (Appeared in ACM CHI ‘15 as 'In the Heat of the Moment: Subjective Interpretations.
