In my time with JMU Football, I was given the opportunity to wear many hats. While my day-to-day consisted primarily of breaking down special teams film, creating scouting reports, and helping prepare and execute practice, new responsibilities would come up every day. I was able to gain experience in recruiting, operations, IT, and everything in between. This position changed the way I manage my time, allowed me to cultivate a critical eye for details, and gave me the confidence to assume new tasks and responsibilities on the fly.I was blessed to be part of three of the most unique seasons in the history of the program: Our non-traditional COVID Spring Season, our final season in the FCS, and our first season in the FBS. In my tenure with the team, we won two conference championships along with a division championship in our first year in the Sun Belt Conference. Additionally, our special teams units were top 25 in the country in multiple statistics each season I was with the team.

In my time with the organization, I gained a wide breadth of skills and abilities in the world of marketing, social media, and user experience. I had consistent responsibilities throughout my internship, including identifying and organizing content, but each week would bring new and unique tasks for me to complete. My primary role was involved with the website and social media pages, where I created blogs and graphics, conducted market research and analysis, and helped elevate the company's online presence through various projects.The other element of my position consisted of marketing and user experience. I spent the most amount of time in this space identifying and contacting leads on potential partners for Sports Thread. I was able to be involved in the process as I got further along in my internship by crafting B2B emails and identifying and compiling effective trends among successful digital marketers. I also gained experience in web design by conducting research on other SaaS companies and conducting analysis of where we could improve our site's functionality.

As an Inclusive Recreation Manager, I oversaw daily operations within my area of the building. Traditionally in this role, I would coordinate with staff to facilitate events and projects, monitor participants and areas, and delegate to student staff to ensure that the environment remains safe and clean.For the the first two semesters as a manager, it was been the responsibility of all employees to ensure that the CDC Guidelines for physical distancing, mask policies, and sanitation procedures are practiced. It is my responsibility to lead periodic cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the building, guide Recreation Assistants through our procedures, and ensure that participants comply with the CDC Guidelines. Despite the unprecedented challenges, the entire staff did a tremendous job of rising to the challenge.I especially enjoyed the leadership and human resource element of this position. I was actively involved in the hiring, promotion, and discipline practices of the department, and I learned a great deal with respect to building a culture I wanted to be a part of. Additionally, I empowered student assistants through demonstrating behavior, delegating tasks, and guiding them through challenges.

I serve as an integral team member on the Inclusive Recreation team at UREC. As a recreation assistant, I am responsible and accountable for participants in more than 60% of the 278,515 square foot recreation center. It is my duty to ensure the safety of all patrons within my area at all times, as well as diagnose and resolve issues and conflicts as they arise.On a day-to-day basis, I work closely with Operations Supervisors and the professional staff to perform routine tasks and set-ups around the building.

I served in a variety of capacities as a Front End Assistant. I gained experience as both a cashier and a member of the Helping Hands crew, as well as cross-training and education of other departments including Grocery, Prepared Foods, Meat, and General Merchandise. In 2019, I was a vital contributor to our store's cashier staff, which was named the most efficient Front End Department of any Wegmans store across the country.I also spearheaded the successful development and streamlining of the store's Front End Recycling Program. As a member of Helping Hands, I recognized the need for an improved recycling system in the front of the store. In collaboration with store and corporate management, I helped facilitate new recycling methods for our store that went into effect in November 2019.
