Collective Bargaining and Interest Arbitrations: In this role, I was deeply involved with negotiating a new collective agreement with the Halifax Regional Police. I was responsible for conducting research, drafting brief-ready legal arguments and research memoranda, and participating in strategy meetings. Grievance Arbitrations: I also drafted research memoranda in preparation for grievance arbitrations, attended grievance arbitrations, and participated in settlement negotiations.In addition to the above responsibilities, I also reviewed, edited, and drafted internal policy documents.

Labour and Employment: I worked on files involving wrongful terminations, grievance arbitrations, and collective bargaining. My responsibilities included reviewing employment and disciplinary records and drafting research memoranda. Corporate and Commercial: I was involved in various business formations and reorganizations, asset and share purchase transactions, and due diligence searches. I also conducted extensive document review and drafted research memoranda related to commercial leases, property law, tax law, and bankruptcy and insolvency.Litigation: I drafted pleadings, client reporting letters, fact chronologies, and research memoranda. The files I worked on encompassed a variety of topics such as tax litigation, insurance defense (property and personal injury), investment litigation, health law, and secured transactions. I also successfully presented a simple motion during this rotation.
