About Gavin Mccall
Gavin has 38 years experience at Ford Motor Company and Visteon developing embedded control systems and software. During this time Gavin led technical development of several Automotive Control Systems, including Gasoline and Diesel Engine control, Automatic Transmission, Electronic Throttle Control – including fail-run operation, Suspension systems, Instrument Cluster and Infotainment systems. These include projects rated ASIL D under ISO 26262. In his role as Technical Fellow, he provided technical leadership in the Systems Engineering, Software Development and testing and Software coding standards – including chairing the production of MISRA-C 2012. He has also led software process improvement efforts including ISO 26262, AUTOSPICE, CMM-I, CMM and Tick-IT. He brings creative solutions and holds four patents.At Codethink, we are working to promote and expand the use of open-sourced software in a manner which meets safely standards such as ISO26262.
