Experienced Director responsible for growing revenue, building capability and further developing the Risk Strategy & Technology Division.

Gavin was a Director in EY Sydney's Financial Services Advisory Division. As an Executive, he was responsible for market growth, strong customer and industry engagement, team management (recruitment, coaching/mentoring, performance management). Gavin played an active leadership role in building and developing the Financial Services Technology Risk division (from ~16 team members to ~60) and led the build-out and delivery of key services to priority clients.Gavin established and oversaw the delivery of a large scale co-sourced Technology and Supplier Risk service for a Major Australian Bank, managing approximately 40 team members both on-shore and off-shore. This involved significant delivery of Line 1 Risk technology services and engagement across the Group. Subject Matter Expert for Supplier Risk and Third Party Assurance, overseeing a large number of local and global opinions (i.e. SOC1, SOC2, Trust Principles) and advice on EY's Utility model.Responsible for driving the strategy and increased use of EY's off-shore Global Delivery Services for the Financial Services Risk Division (cross competency lead). Led major/critical technology and business risk assessments at several Major Financial Services institutions (i.e. Line 1/2/3 Risk, cloud computing, identify & access management, supplier management [risk, including customer data focus, privacy and contract set-up/negotiations], remediation/fin crime programs).Program Director for major infrastructure transformation (for an ASX listed organisation) - from outsourced managed service to consumption based model -$165M transformation.Assisted Berkshire Hathaway obtain their license to operate in Australia through the development of risk and security frameworks, policies and responses to APRA feedback and requirements.Active leadership role in communal/social engagement through overseeing "Care days", sponsorship and attendance at charitable events for Not-for-profit organisations, pro-bono engagements.

Gavin worked with a range of organisations to enhance their business performance through better management of risk and improving their controls and business processes both internally and with outsourced service providers.Gavin was the National driver for PwC's Cloud Assurance and PwC's Supplier Risk Management practices and the Performance Assurance practice in Sydney. This included assurance and consulting advice on an organisation's strategy, execution and governance practices for both their internal controls and management over vendors/suppliers.Gavin had 10 years' of experience with PwC in technology risk assurance and advice. This experience included work with clients in IT risk management and governance, supplier risk management, outsourcing and off-shoring, cloud computing, third party assurance, operational risk management, IT project reviews and system readiness assessments. He also has extensive experience in leading large scale complex internal audit reviews (65+ annual reviews) focused on technology, financial and operational risks. He has experience working with clients across several industry groups including technology, outsourcing, retail, financial services, pharmaceutical, government, construction, logistics and manufacturing.
