After working in education for 18 years with lots of school holidays and a nice wee pension pot building up, I decided to change career and work for Who Cares? Scotland. So why did I do that? Having worked with care experienced children and young people for many years, I was all too aware of the challenges they face in their everyday lives. I wanted to work for Who Cares? Scotland because I believe in why they do what they do and likewise Who Cares? Scotland chose me not because of my extensive experience and CV as a fundraiser, but because of my beliefs, my passion and my values. I believe in honesty. I believe that by helping others where I can, a little bit of good will come back along the way. Call it Karma, call it good will, I think it's just building up friendships and partnerships. My current role is fundraising and partnership manager. For me, the partnership comes first. Develop strong partnership and funding opportunities will present themselves. Well at least let's hope so, or I'll need to return to 12 weeks holiday a year......
