I have been working in and around engineering, construction and land development since 1995 and have been fortunate to work on commercial, industrial, rail, asset management, refurbishment and residential schemes. I get a real kick out of the up-front conceptual designs and planning process and the liaison and negotiation that goes with dealing with all the different parties.At the start of 2018 I moved to One, based in Worcester, who have a very diverse project portfolio and daily focus on collaborative working between multi-disciplinary teams. We are one of only a small handful of practices certified under the BRE BIM Level 2 Business Certification Scheme, which sets us apart from our competition to provide confidence and reassurance that we are competent to deliver BIM Level 2 projects. In joining a combined civil and structural team, this brings personal challenges for me in becoming more closely involved again in inter-disciplinary solutions as well as bringing the civil engineering elements in line with BIM and the digital age.My focus is always on trying to make the right decisions for the right reasons, whether my own or those made by the team at work or players I coach at rugby (which is my other passion). I believe in putting effort into people and helping give them confidence to identify and realise their potential.
