This role presented the opportunity to undertake significant change management at a facility that was celebrating its Centenary. Substantial achievements during this time were to: introduce contemporary approaches to prisoner management; and, introduce and champion a facility redevelopment plan that culminated in the removal of the historical armed towers and bluestone walls that surrounded the facility.

Mareeba North Queensland

During this time I had the priveleged opportunity to be part of the commissioning and management team for the then brand new Lotus Glen Correctional Centre. This was a rare opportunity to introduce contemporary approaches to prisoner management, and the operations of a high technology, high security facility into a greenfield environment. The facility was subsequently awarded a Human Rights Award for its enlightened approach to prisoner management.
