Gavin is a passionate and emotionally-intelligent Producer/Director/Editor with a knack for crafting films that resonate. In 2023 Gavin directed a series of scripted, crime dramas (6x12min) for which he received a Best Director nomination at the 2023 ADG Awards. His feature documentary, Everybody's Oma (Editor, Co-Director, DP), received critical acclaim and was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2022 AATCA Awards. Released by Bonsai Films 'Oma' premiered at the 2022 Sydney Film Festival (Official Selection 2022, Melbourne International Film Festival and 2022 Cinefest OZ Film Festival). In 2012, with Co-director/Co-Producer Kate Gorman, Gavin released his first independent documentary feature, The Face of Birth, which stopped home birth becoming illegal in Australia. Gavin’s work is characterised by its narrative strength and emotional authenticity. He believes in the power of diversity and building strong teams, and is always able to see and hold the big picture. Gavin has worked across Film, TV and commercial production since the 2007 release of the History Channel documentary, Lockout (DP / Editor).
