Working as a Project Manager I have handled many aspects of projects, from reviewing designs and the scope and layouts of potential work to equipment selection. Using my experience of designs and field installations of rail crossings I also review bill of materials and then assign projects to one of 2 wire shops I have responsibility for. Materials are ordered, time frames reviewed and schedules of work are produced to allow the supply chain to flow smoothly and for customers to receive their completed products in a timely manner. Responsible for all financial aspects with regards the materials used to complete the projects.Projects can range from a few thousand to multi-million dollars, relying on my experience and education and by putting my Project Management skills to work, I keep the work flowing. I also call upon my excellent interpersonal communication skills to work within my networks, solidifying my existing relationships with vendors throughout the country.As Estimator, it is my responsibility to accurately work through proposals for work and their requirements and build an accurate cost estimate for the work to be performed. Knowledge of the industry and the equipment involved allows a complete understanding of work required and allows the best numbers to be calculated. Show less
