Promoted in late 2018 to Project Director of Coordination, a new role created to provide advice to senior managers/management. More recently, assumed responsibility for communications with the 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and 182 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs).Until March 2020, role was similar to previous positions at other organising committees and involved setting up the department and recruiting/training the team to act as representatives for NOCs/NPCs. This includes day-to-day communication, issue resolution and helping NOCs/NPCs prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Games. Internally the team works with 40+ departments, ensuring that service levels are scoped according to athlete needs and delivered within agreed budgets.Following postponement of the Games, the scope changed, and the Communications team was at the heart of this restructure. In addition to crisis communications with stakeholders, a revised communications plan was launched within days. The NPC Relations team also implemented an improved engagement strategy, taking into account client feedback and adapting that to new circumstances.
