Assistant Language Teacher (Jet Program)

- Prepared and carried out over hundreds of unique English language lessons. Taught monthly at a school for the Deaf (K-12) using a combination of English, Japanese, and Sign Language. Completed a 1-year course in Japanese Sign Language- Helped prepare, administer, and grade various tests ranging from high school entrance exams to mid term / final exams and performance tests. Helped coach students for the EIKEN test and multiple recitation, speech, and debate contests. Manager of English Club- Designed two separate classes in an educational application using a spaced-repetition-system to help students memorize difficult vocabulary words. Approximately 40 hours spent inputting each word into the system, recording native pronunciations, and creating / distributing explanation sheets to each class. Currently being used by over 500 students- Participated in the prefecture-wide high school English summer seminar as a group leader, tutor, and coordinator, respectively. As coordinator, I managed around 200 students and 40 staff members over the course of 3 days, planned events, handled and organized countless important documents, and came up with creative solutions to problems often within a very short window of time. Preparation lasted from March to August, occupying many evenings and weekends- Acted as an interpreter for multiple Japanese television interviews, study abroad group visits to my high school, and cultural exchange events in the fields of business and science / mathematics- School counselor for a student applying for universities overseas. Communicated with many different admissions offices and created a detailed profile of our high school, along with the student's official transcripts and essays, resulting in letters of acceptance and scholarships from each school applied to- Regional Adviser for all Oita Prefecture JET Programme high school teachers. Led a workshop on better time management, productivity, future career planning, and finances

For this sales campaign, we ranked among the top 5 schools in the Hokuriku region.Helped many students pass the EIKEN (Test in practical English proficiency backed by Japanese Ministry of Education), and even had 2 high school students pass level pre-1, which is extremely rare for most AEON schools. Raised student TOEIC scores as well.Set up and conducted meetings with students and parents discussing student progress, and future classes / textbooks, eventually leading to re-contracting.
