Responsible for the technical lead of FME within IMGeospatial, delivering support, consultancy and training to customers, this included supporting customers through the transition from Sterling Geo and establishing FME within IMGeospatial following its transition from Sterling Geo. The role also involved international training, representing IMGeospatial at the Safe Partner meeting, providing on site consultancy to customers as well as leading on delivering our World Tour events. In addition to the FME activities played a key part in supporting IMGeospatial’s AIMEE application which deliveries geospatial intelligence from satellite Imagery. This includes developing an FME based solution for processing the data and supporting the development of the workflow around AIMEE from image acquisition to delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities:FME Technical lead and Trainer:Responsible for the technical leadership for FME including providing presales support, technical support and bespoke consultancy. This includes organising the content for FME World Tour events and Sterling’s User Group Meetings including creating and delivering presentations, training and leading Hackathons. Responsible for representing Sterling at Safe Partner Meetings internationally and presenting at Safe’s International Conference in Vancouver. Lead for FME Cloud operations and FME technical strategy which Sterling was just awarded FME Cloud Partner of the year for. An FME Certified trainer delivering FME Desktop, Advanced and Server training and responsibly for creating and delivering bespoke FME training courses including Python, Business Analytics and Cloud as well as creating Hackathon material for World Tour events. Web Development and System Architect:Provide architecture and solution design support both internally and to Sterling’s customers to enable them to manage GeoSpatial data within the enterprise or in cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS including supporting the development of Sterling’s own SaaS offerings. This includes Architecting and developing numerous web demonstrators to demonstrate capabilities of Sterling’s geospatial technology and to deliver interfaces for key projects such as the Space for Smarter Government Program (SSGP) that involved writing a geo-business intelligence and data delivery interface along with underpinning infrastructure to over 100 local and central government organisations.

Based within the GeoConsultancy Group at Astrium having joined the group in 2000. Worked on a wide range of GIS and remote sensing projects including providing technical support and development for the delivery of major national GeoInformation Systems including a number of projects for National Government including the development of an Olympic security portal for the Meterpolitian Police, GeoInformation Solutions for the British Army, the British Transport Polices national GeoPortal and Command & Control Solutions. Also, notably worked on the SDI/Portal for the UK national government agency, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), providing technical consultancy support for Astrium’s Pan Government Agreement (PGA2a) services and Astrium’s Software Unit. Technical consultancy lead for Astrium on Google Earth Enterprise, ERDAS’s Apollo suite and Safe Software’s FME and FME Server; along with Consultancy support for enterprise GIS, the GeoWeb and the use of OGC Web Services. Actively involved within the Open Geospatial Consortium and represents Astrium on several their Standards Working Groups including KML and GeoRM. As well as being involved with the Digital National Framework (DNF) and INSPIRE.
