Gavin is a technologist, entrepreneur and commercial leader with a wealth of experience in software development, systems engineering, retail tech, data strategies, modelling and architecture. His entrepreneurial journey started in 2002 when he established Linear Ten, a “dotcom” agency delivering bespoke eCommerce solutions to a broad range of clients and sectors. As the business grew, and recognising the market opportunity for highly customisable eCommerce platforms as a managed service, Linear Ten merged with Fresca in 2004 to combine their managed hosting services and tech development expertise. Fresca was one of the UK’s leading e-commerce platforms, frequently gaining market and analyst recognition and winning industry awards. Fresca was sold to BT Plc in 2008 and became part of BT Expedite’s retail solutions business.Gavin is renowned for his can-do approach and bringing ideas to life. With extensive experience working with many of the UK’s leading brands and retailers, he realised there must be an easier, and more cost-effective and efficient way, for all users to access and understand their data in a single, managed solution. That is, without the need for mass system upgrades, an army of tech architects, engineers and data scientists, or being tied to a particular front-end BI solution. Hence Datitude was born, co-founded by Gavin, on the simple premise - to help stop businesses drowning in a data lake by democratising data; making it quicker and easier for them to take control and make sense of their data to drive value and profitable growth.
