To manage all Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Royal Navy (RN) and Royal Marine (RM) Motor Cruising as Chief Instructor, conducted in accordance with the RYA procedures and MOD regulations in support of RN and RM Sections of the CCF (RN) so the functions of the CCF as laid down in JSP 313 are achieved. PRINCIPAL TASKS (not limited to): Deliver the CCF RN Motor Cruising training as directed by PBO and CCF Training Officer in support of the CCF RN Camps and Courses training programme. Instruct Motor Cruising courses for Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) up to the level of Preparation for RYA Yachtmaster (Coastal and Offshore) Deliver Shorebased training at regional locations and in schools to cadets and CFAVs. Advise Principal Boats Officer (PBO) on all RYA motor cruising issues. Advise PBO on all RN CCF motor cruiser fleet issues. DEVELOPMENT OF STAFF: Monitor the levels of RYA qualifications held by CFAVs, ensuring the CCF RN HQ maintains the organic capability to deliver camps and courses through management of a 1, 5 and 10 year succession plan. Set practical goals and objectives for support colleagues and manage their performance, to improve their capability and development. The post holder is to ensure that the Civil Service Values are embodied in the working practices of the COS Navy Cadets staff, paying particular attention to the provision of suitable training. This is to include induction and mandatory training, agreeing and setting individual targets, conducting staff appraisals and obtaining feedback on the value of all training undertaken by staff.
