Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.Douglas AdamsGaël Faure is a half-Spanish, quarter-Russian, quarter-French, designer based in Lausanne. After earning his degree in Visual Communications at the esteemed ECAL in 2009, he honed his skills at various agencies in London and Berlin before co-founding the studio Carnal Faure Verona with Yanis Carnal and Raphaël Verona. Gaël went on to spend two years as an Art Director at the Geneva headquarters of international creative agency Base Design. He has also taught at both ECAL and EPFL. Ever the arbiter, the Swiss-born creative is a managerial maestro thanks to his fiercely collaborative style, which has proven to inspire closely-knit, respectful teams with a shared investment for success. The color combinations, illustrations, photographic style, and “non-boring” typefaces that define his creative approach are profoundly influenced by Martin Heidegger’s dasein. Off the clock, Gaël is an active woodsman, spending his freetime skiing and river swimming. He fancies himself quite the wine buff and is the proud owner of an Akita named Tanuki. More than anything, Gaël believes in the creative potential of so-called mistakes and the unabashed exploration of our unique imaginations.
