As the Solution Architect at BrowserStack, my role is to guide our customers through their Automation journey. By providing custom solutions and holistic guidance, I help to make sure that our customers are making the most of Automation and following best practices. Solving problems and talking about automation have been two of my favourite things that I have done in my career and BrowserStack has given me the ability to do both every day.As part of my role, I help our wide range of customers with the following: - Coaching manual testers on the benefits and uses of automation and helping them to learn to write good, clean and efficient code following best practices. - Helping customers make the right decision when it comes to tooling and frameworks so that they can achieve their goals in the best way. - Providing custom solutions (bootstrap frameworks, reporting solutions, CI / CD configurations among other things) to our customers to help them get unblocked from issues that they are facing. - Help our customers get to that first 10% of automation coverage so that they can see the benefits and usefulness of automation. - Liaise with senior leadership to help guide the testing strategy in a way that is of the most benefit to them. - Foster and build relationships with management and engineers in our customers to ensure that they feel supported and comfortable asking questions when they need to. - Mentor and guide junior staff both internally at BrowserStack and within our customers to help them use automation in the best possible ways.

As Test Lead for Datalex, I was responsible for: - Defining the project plan based on timeframes from Architects and Project Manager. - Creating the test plan and test cases with input from test architect. - Working on delegating work to resources that have been allocated for the project. - Working with the Project Coordinator to ensure that I have the adequate resources to keep timelines aligned and within scope. - Working with clients during and before UAT to ensure that testing is being completed and the correct areas are being investigated. - Logging and investigating JIRA's (Bugs) and ensuring that the correct issues are with the correct people so they are addressed as quickly as possible.

Manager of QA for a company specialising in software geared towards hospitals patients and clinicians.This was a contract position in which i was responsible for setting up the QA department which before then, had not existed. This involved defining and creating the QA processes and working with the CTO and Development Manager to make sure that these processes align with what they are doing currently.I also defined a pipeline for a new mobile strategy using HTML5 which would see the applications deployed to Android and iOS devices.

As part of the technical consultancy team, I was responsible for designing and implementing customised case management software for a range of clients in the Banking / Insurance sector. Responsibilities included: - Writing design documents based on tech specs from clients. - Designing custom software based on client specs. This was done using in an in-house tool along with using SQL Server to implement. - Working on-site with our clients on change requests during the projects design phase. - Writing training documents in order to ensure a smooth transition for our clients.Midway through my tenure, I was asked to transition into the Training department. My responsibilities largely remained the same, with a few changes: - Creating detailed documentation and workshops to train clients on the software they requested. - Working with the technical consultancy team in order to ensure that the training software had everything required. - Creating bespoke environments in order to train clients on the standard modules that we offer. - Traveling to client sites to provide training to various clients in 1 - 5 day courses depending on needs.

Contract position working on localisation of Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Outlook in 31 languages.I was responsible for the following: - Creating documentation for outsource partners in order for them to effectively and efficiently test in multiple languages. - Build and OS deployment to Virtual Machines in order to efficiently test across multiple languages simultaneously. - Working with the Test Lead to define the best way to test all languages in the minimum time alotted.

While working with FINEOS i was responsible for: - Development of custom functionality to match client requirements. - Unit testing of functionality to insure adherence to requirements. - Documentation of processes carried out internally - Coding of web services for projects. - Bug fixing based on feedback from Quality Assurance department. - Preparing and making builds for Hudson system. - Quality Assurance testing which included ad-hoc, functional, regression and smoke testing of project builds. - Writing of test scripts and test summary's including metrics and overall scope of test schedule.

While at Microsoft i was responsible for: - Build Verification Testing of new product builds. - User interface test passes to verify localizability of product. - As Product expert on Lost Odyssey (XBOX 360) and Viva Piñata (PC) I had to answer queries on game content from the translators. - Monitor internal bug tracking database for localisation issues and cross reference with functional issues. - Writing test plans and schedules as well as high level test scripts. - Prepare builds for external test teams and provide them to teams in accordance with bug fixes and scheduled testing. - Report work to test leads and raise and address any problems related to technology delivery and schedule. - Ensure quality of localised product was the same as the quality of Japanese product.
