I am a faculty member with a focus on teaching, research and practice on urban development, poverty and inequality, housing, and planning. I am a coordinator of the Program for Working Professionals in Urban Development (PWP-UD 2012-13; www.iihs.ac.in/pwp-ud). Additionally, I co-anchor three major research projects on evictions, urban inclusion, slum upgradation, and the relationships between poverty, inequality and urban violence.

Co-Principal Investigator and project co-coordinator in a two year research study to map and assess the impact of eviction and resettlement in an urban resettlement colony in Delhi. The resulting 2800-family survey measured the economic, social, and political impact of forced displacement, and is one of the largest non-governmental databases on urban poor communities in India. My responsibilities included hiring and managing a twenty-person research team, co-designing the research project including the survey instrument, managing data entry systems, and the final analysis
