I was responsible for leading and managing the University’s Funding Office. This included:- Developing strategies for bidding and funding- Providing strategic advice in support of business development, research and funded programmes- Supporting income generation across all Schools and Departments of the University- Supporting Corporate and School level funding application submissions- Supporting tendering activity across the University- Providing project management support, advice and guidance to EU and domestic projects- Developing and supporting contract management between funders and project partnersI gained experience of bidding to and delivery of projects under a range of funders, including Innovate UK, British Council, Research Councils, EUSIF (ERDF/ESF), Horizon Europe and Erasmus+. I provided training to staff on internal and external systems, funding programmes and guidance related to funding. The CWLWM project supported the development of a dynamic and responsive childcare sector in Wales (£3m, European Social Fund). Responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management. This included financial monitoring and reporting, partner auditing, progress reporting, communication and dissemination, and corresponding with the funding body. The systems I developed and implemented for project and financial management were recognised as models of good practice by the National Audit Office. The project successfully delivered on all outputs and outcomes.

This included establishing financial systems for monitoring and tracking project spend, financial monitoring and reporting of partner accounts, managing partner audits, managing project audits, and reporting to the funding body on project expenditure. The project successfully delivered on all outputs and outcomes.
