My research projects required me to learn mass spectrometry methods and analyses for metabolomics, and enabled me to investigate the catalytic properties of polymers used in atmospheric measurements. Additionally, prior to pursuing my Master’s degree, I also worked as a research assistant at the BioAnalytical Facility of the University of North Texas’ BioDiscovery Institute, where I performed various biomass extractions, used chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry for analyses, and performed regular upkeep and maintenance on the instruments of the facility. Most notably, I tested and helped to develop the facility’s validated analytical method for hemp potency testing under the supervision of the lab manager.
