PI: Dr. V Ramgopal Rao Performing micro-fabrication of MEMS based encapsulation devices on Silicon based platforms (SU-8 spinning, mask designing and photo-lithography using double sided aligner, hot-wire CVD of amino groups). Characterization of fabricated devices using profilometer, AFM and fluoroscopic studies.

Electrochemical characterization of heavy metals, pesticides in water based substrate, and various biomolecules for cardiovascular, neuro-degenerative and carcinogenic disorder prognosis.

Culminating into my Master's thesis.Thesis title: An Electronic Platform for ultra-sensitive protein detection.Overview: Developing a biosensor device towards miniaturizing existing proteomic assays (ELISA) and with the final aim of building a hand held point of care device.Advisor: Dr. Shalini Prasad, School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, ASUKey contributions:Developed a Nano-monitor based system for protein detection. Involved in material research for a better suitable membrane. Involved in re-designing a micro-fluidic device to aid more efficient test serum delivery. Electrical and fluidic modeling of the device using COMSOL.Transporting the sensing platform from a silicon substrate to a more robust and cheap PCB (printed circuit board) substrate. Testing the biosensor device for Cancer (Glycosylation analysis), Parkinson's disease and endotoxin detection.

Performed network coverage planning for the city of Mumbai for WiMAX based last mile access solutions. Designed and simulated an OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiplexed access) transceiver. Trained entree level employees with the basics of WiMAX protocol.
