Continual management of tracking spreadsheets covering job management, scaffold safety inspection register and staff HSE status registers as well as others. Raised POs for PPE, tools and other needs. Regular liaising with project manager, quantity surveyor and trade managers to coordinate documentation and pull and process data for various purposes, as required.

I gained experience in the marine industry by following a long held dream to live and work on the waters around the west coast of Scotland. In my time running my own business I built/refurbished two MGN 280 coded charter boats from bare hulls with a max capacity of 12 passengers. These boats have operated successfully on the west coast of Scotland, with a customer satisfaction rating of 4.7/5 stars from 80+ reviews for the business. In addition to operating the charter business, I have also undertaken a variety of other marine work, including delivering and re-coding a 26 ton work boat in 2018/2019 and providing commercial dive/patrol support on smaller contracts. All operational and maintenance work for Seadog Charters was carried out in-house.

Initially I provided project coordinator and IT support, I implemented SharePoint Online for the business including forms and workflows for holiday requests, sickness/return to work and purchase orders, also created the project site template with input from the PMO team. I also managed the overall project status report used by the PMO and reported up to board level on a monthly basis. This report was refined with use of VBA macros allowing for shorter reporting times even with 4-5 times the number of active projects.After handing over the IT support role I progressed to full time project manager and I successfully managed “modified standards” a class of high volume product based on existing designs. During this time I worked closely with the production and test managers to help define their SOPs and streamline the processes associated with these common hardware types. Over time this class of product was taken over by a new recruit and I began to focus on a more highly customised level of project. This required managing the full project life cycle from accepting handovers from sales, developing MS Project plans, maintaining RAID register, initial plus on-going stakeholder communication via email, conference calls and site visits, supplier management for any customised hardware and chairing various project check-point/review meetings until the product was ultimately deemed fully functional and ready to ship. Due to the nature of some hardware, export control laws were critical to ensuring that all hardware and / or recipients were legal and not subject to any export controls beyond the export licences held.

I joined the company as an IT helpdesk and project analyst and soon progressed to become a SharePoint consultant while continuing in a project support role. I would provide a dual role within the business for a year working largely between one huge project in a SharePoint deployment for Scottish Power Energy Networks and the newly developing PMO. When the opportunity came within the new PMO I moved into full time project management, where I oversaw the implementation of multiple SharePoint deployments and the on-going deployment of updates to a bespoke .NET web application used by over 500 UK and Ireland wide operatives.
