Ecorus is one of the leading companies in the Belgian/Dutch renewables industry. Ecorus develops, builds, finances, maintains and operates solar energy rooftop, floating, carport and ground-based projects. With solar panels as the core business we try to change the energy market one panel at a time! As a Project Manager, I’m responsible for the complete design and construction of some major solarpower plants (Rooftop, floating, Carpot or Ground based) from 1MWp and up. My job in short is to manage the entire project incl: development, sales, finance, budgeting, engineering, planning, supervision of the construction and project closure to reach a high quality PV system according to client wishes/needs.Key tasks are:• Development: Apply to tenders • Sales and finance: Supporting the client in their project decisions from a technical and economic aspect, business case setup and financial evaluation.• Engineering: Execute/manage all design and engineering related topics (electrical, civil and solar aspects, …)• Pre-project management: communicate, plan and manage resources• Project management and execution: schedule resources, coordinate the entire execution of all the works and maintain client relationship• Post-project management: co-ordinate government certification, reach project acceptancy with the client and organize a hand-over to our maintenance department to ensure correct production in the future.Most Challenging Project:- Full engineering and project management of the PV installation on the roof of ArcelorMittal in Gent, BE. At the time this was the biggest rooftop plant in Belgium (+10MW with 27.104 pannels). Not only it size but the realisation of such a project on an old roof and the impossible deadline of barely 3.5moths between an initial site visit and the go live of this project made this a remarkable achievement.

With this car we competed in The World Solar Challenge, an endurance race across Australia from Darwin to Adelaide, against 40 top universities around the world.
