Work with the Executive Board members, and committee representatives to design and implement campaigns to build organizational power and be responsible for the effective functioning of the Union including leadership identification, recruitment, development, and training ofmembers.Design and implement organizing campaigns to win Union recognition for unorganized workplaces,building-organizing committees, identifying issues, leadership identification and development, andpreparing workers for NLRB, MMBA and other elections, and/or strategic and recognition campaigns.Exercise leadership, training and motivation to build and maintain a steward system designed toempower and mobilize workeis through contract negotiation, contract enforcement, and other issuesand disputes affecting workers. Assign tasks to stewards, be responsible for directing stewards withrespect to developing and implementing Union policies on allworkplace issues.Educate workers and others on how power relationships work and how workers can/should use thatknowledge.Communicate with workers including listening, framing issues and motivating them to participateactively.Develop written materials including, training materials, other literature, and pressreleases, etc.Participate in lobbying at State, Federal and local levels and educate and mobilize members aroundthe Union's Political ProgramLead workers in community issues and build relationships with relevant people/groups/organizations outside the UnionRecruit and file members to sit on Political Action Committees and participate in organizinglegislative and electoral campaignsRepresent the Union as assigned in community and labor coalition activitiesComplete all required administrative tasks (i.e., Activity forms, expense forms, etc.) in a timelymanner. Maintain accurate record keeping on facility recordsOther duties as assigned

I proudly serve as an AmeriCorps member with City Year. I serve as a mentor, tutor, and role model for eight graders. The position requires me to be there before, during and after school. The students I work with get individualized academic and social emotional support. The support provided is based on research strategies to assist students who are identified, by school data, to be academically at risk.

• Investigated learning and behavior in zebra fish along with six other students under the guidance of Dr. Rachal Blazer.• Held role as liaison between lab assistants and lab manager to ensure that lab protocol and procedures were upheld and communication was clear between all student participants in the lab.

• First point of contact for current and incoming students who had inquiries and/or concerns regarding class registration, professor’s office hours and scheduling appointments.• Assisted office manager and department chair in all office duties including: scheduling, marketing of events, and managing faculty assessments and senior exit surveys on Qualtrics.
