My role involved providing a visible and effective leadership example in HSQE standards at all times, to all organisational stakeholders, in promotion and in maintenance of a strong HSQE culture. Whilst maintaining and developing my knowledge in external standards and legislation, I ensured organisational practices were compliant with company standards and were aligned to company strategy and performance. I further carried out monitoring and auditing of performance within the organisation against associated projects, legislation and stakeholders. Where required, I ensured compliant & timely reporting, investigation and root cause analysis of unwanted events.

I provided support to staff through the life cycle of a project from initial conception to handover and completion as a SHE Advisor for CCG (Scotland) Ltd.I completed construction phase plans, traffic management plans and carried out risk assessments and method statements for all work activities. I also created fire risk assessments, fire strategies and plans for display along with asbestos summaries for refurbishment contracts when required. In addition, I was required to undertake health and safety inspections and provide written reports to Site Management. Overseeing accident investigations was a key part of my job with an intent to identify causation factors to prevent re-occurrence.

As Compliance Coordinator for NorDan UK, I assisted with Health & Safety responsibilities (in conjunction with their external consultant) including risk assessments, method statements and accident and incident reporting. In addition to this I completed PQQ's, managed the motor fleet and ensured compliance with accreditation undergoing several audits; Achilles Building Confidence (Level 5), CHAS, SMAS and Constructionline.
