Writing reports for children in schools who need extra support. Delivering and creating training for schools. Writing evaluations and reports for projects we are currently working on. Part time work since November 2018.

Completing assessments to look at where young people in Care are functioning in their brains, what there Internal Working Model is, and how their trauma and experiences are impacting and presenting currently. I also devised training ADHD, ASD, PACE and Brain-Based Keyworking training to be delivered to all staff in Residential Childcare. I attended consultations alongside therapists helping teams to understand the need that young people are communicating through the behaviours.

Completing supervisions which allow staff to reflect on past situations and offer an opportunity for them to be heard. Working alongside the homes manager to ensure senior paperwork is completed to a high standard. Putting in place training for staff to ensure I utilise my knowledge of psychology and mental health to ensure the young people continue to develop and are ready for independent life when they turn 18. Ofsted rated our home ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ leadership and management.

Full time post at an Adult Learning Disability service in Nottingham organising activities young adults could engage in when not at college to support their independent skills. This included physical activity, cooking, cleaning and much more. This was all organised by myself along with the risk assessments. When the senior was not available I organised staffing for the day. This was only short time due to working on bank for Esland Care and being offered a senior role.

My main duties include:- Conducting psychological assessments using psychometric tests to inform expert witness reports including IQ and personality tests and collecting questionnaire data for schools, foster/residential carers and parents- Summarising legal bundles- Writing expert witness reports- Writing up research related to child attachment and ADHD like symptoms (including data entry) which contributes to academic papers for publication and conference presentations- Shadowing a Consultant Clinical Psychologist during assessments of adults and children- Making structured observations of the family as a whole, children and adults during assessments- Writing literature reviews

This is a part time role I fit around other commitments. It is a very varied role helping individuals with various level of need to help them gain as much independence as possible. I lead 1:1 and group sessions with children with autism, OCD, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, and many more disabilities, developing my communication, teamwork and innovative thinking skills. Within this job and my swimming teaching, I learn a lot through training about safeguarding, equality and diversity. This role was where I first developed my interest in mental health and established my aim to specialise in children and adolescents and my keen interest in autism due to how heterogeneous it is as a disorder. I write care plans and risk assessments for each of my clients. I have also learnt a lot about the issues support workers and families face and the agencies they are involved in.

Within this role, I prepared lessons and presented them in new ways of learning, developing my creativity and innovative thinking. I led group, 2:1 and 1:1 lessons, while supervising a team of Level One and assistant teachers thereby developing my leadership skills. I enjoyed my six years as a swimming teacher and hope to use the innovative, communication and management skills I had learnt throughout my career.

Working in a specialist school for autism which promotes therapeutic learning. I help the pupils, mainly on a 1:1 basis, with school work, introducing new strategies to help them receive the most out of education and adapt their daily timetable to aid their well-being and meet their educational needs. The school adopts a holistic, multi-agency approach including therapists, psychologists and teachers. I work with the teachers to manage behaviour within the classroom and promote inclusion of all students.

Working on a European project investigating children and adolescents with behaviour disorders. I currently lead sessions which involve a clinical interview, an IQ test, neuropsychological tests, genetic samples and psychological tests. I also assist MRI scans. My job also includes the role of 'Lab Manager' which involves liaising with participants, parents and organisations which may help us with recruiting for the project.
