As a member of the Student Development Team at Imperial College Union I am one of the key staff members who works with our volunteering brokerage service. I contact a variety of charities and Not for Profits and work with them to become partners with ourselves. Additionally I help organise mass volunteering events where students can have a taste of volunteering before having to commit to a longer period of it. These are popular due to students' busy time tables. I am also working with the Outreach department at the University to help coordinator the Pimlico Connection tutoring programme. This is where 70-80 imperial students tutor at local schools and supplementary schools. This required me to be vigilant with DBS checks, help organise a training programme and be a point of contact for any issues that may arise,

• Worked with various student groups in order to create development plans to ensure that their clubs and societies were sustainable both in relation to finance and also in regards to how they are ran such as policy in relation to under 18s, inclusion of different areas of the student body• Took the lead on dealing with all 18 of Imperial Union’s minibuses, ensuring all were serviced, MOT, faults and weekly checks were carried out, as well ensuring bookings from both external and internal were completed. Additionally managed the student drivers to ensure work was completed in a timely fashion and that I was approachable to any issues that arise• Prepared a proposal in relation to implement MIDAS training for our minibus traineddrivers, liaising with current providers of the service to determine whether it would be plausible to run it ourselves and various alternatives• Co-ordinated volunteers for Imperial’s Fresher’s fair with over 350 stalls and made sure that all volunteers were managed efficiently additionally provided support for the implementation of Imperial Union's “Give it a Go” campaign

Whilst working at Imperial College Union I was lucky enough to be offered a position as a Subwarden in Pembridge Halls in Notting Hill.My experience through this has:- Greatly increased my knowledge in the welfare of students- How to deal with difficult situations, especially when alcohol may be involved- Help bring people together and to work together- Create innovative events that suit a wide range of people- Learn how to find balance between on call work, my career and my personal life- Meet people from across the globe and learn new things about different cultures- How to be fair yet disciplined in certain situations and make myself clear about what is/isn't acceptable.

In this job I was working in the kitchen and front of house in a quick service food and beverage outlet in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Florida. Here I had to work part of a team in the kitchen as well as having the fantastic customer service that Disney is known for. I had many conversations with guests from across the globe and ensured their stay was magical.
