Originally brought on to combine the roles of both the Administration Officer and the Membership Officer, my role quickly expanded to encompass many areas of the organisation. In my first three months I had independently completed a restructure of the Journal of Road Safety and continued to oversee changes to the Journal’s processes which save over $10,000 annually. Working with the Communications Manager, I designed and created the new ACRS website with the intention of improving accessibility and functionality for users, and ensured this was achieved by recruiting volunteer ACRS members as UX testers.

As Membership Officer my role included solving member queries and creating recruitment and retention strategies. As Administration Officer my role involved doing finance, policy, events, and communications work, as well as personal assistant tasks, meeting preparation, and implementing a mentoring program for COVID19 responders in Victoria. This role kept me on my toes and encouraged me to learn new skills quickly to be able to help other staff members at a moment’s notice. I also learned to manage my time well, with tight deadlines for annual reports, board meeting minutes, event proposals, and weekly newsletter preparation.

As head of marketing at Trimira I created advertisements for luxury audio equipment, as well as managed social media marketing across three companies. In this role I utilised Photoshop and MailChimp, as well as working collaboratively with suppliers' marketing managers. Once I had settled into the role I began working with Google Ad Words and Google Analytics to manage SEO across all businesses. I also acted as the web-developer for the three companies, using eCommerce sites such as Shopify and Wordpress as well as using my own code to customise the websites. While creating my first website from the ground up (Brisbane SmartHomes) I found I had a passion for building websites - I started using online coding schools and code-classes at university until I was confident enough to build my own website.As an all-rounder employee I also managed the Xero accounts for two of the businesses, as well as filing the invoices and bills once reconciled. I very much enjoy being organised so this small part of my job was something I looked forward to doing.

I utilised cloud-based accounting software Xero and Dropbox to successfully complete my bookkeeping tasks, which included entering and reconciling invoices, bills and transactions, as well as managing employee superannuation. Over time my role expanded to include using both Xero and payroll software Harvest to record and create timesheets and payslips.

During my time here I was frequently trusted to run the store alone, completing tasks such as packaging produce, selling and providing recommendations to customers, and floating the tills at the end of the day. My ability to quickly and accurately manage the farm's tills led to my next job as bookkeeper.
