· Administering the property and financial affairs on behalf of the Deputy and advising and acting for lay clients· Advising on and administering Personal Injury Trusts· All aspects of Court of Protection work, including preparing and submitting Deputyship applications and other applications to Court as and when required (including Statutory Will applications and applications for one-off decisions), completing annual OPG reports and the general management of client’s property and financial affairs in their best interests – this is very varied and includes arranging capacity assessments, following best interest processes, general day-to-day administration of finances and investments, arranging for the purchase, sale, rent and adaptation of properties, dealing with employment matters for those with directly employed support teams, ensuring personal and trust tax returns are submitted annually, liaising with wider therapy teams and social services and generally ensuring that all work carried out on cases are compliant with the MCA 2005, the Code of Practice, and any other applicable legislation or practice direction. Alongside this, I also assist more senior members of the team on pre-settlement cases.
