Genafine mobilizes local churches in Sacramento to be the light and feet of Jesus as they welcome refugee service. Before joining World Relief, she was a grad student at Wheaton College studying Humanitarian and Disaster Leadership and Trauma Certificate. She was a full-time Partnership Intern with the International Justice Mission in Cambodia, combating modern-day slavery. Genafine served at Wheaton Bible Church and Puente Del Pueblo in an after-school program reaching out to refugees in the West Chicago area. She was an International Church Mobilization Intern with the International Justice Mission in Washington, DC. Genafine's first job was as a Summer Camp counselor in Seattle. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations in Peace and Conflict Studies at the United States International University, Africa. During her time at Wheaton College, she’s hoping to learn how to be a servant leader who serves vulnerable communities, amplifies the voices of the oppressed, and is a bridge between the body of Christ and the broken world. She is an active youth leader in her home church, Parklands Baptist Church, Nairobi. She reaches out to urban refugees in her neighborhood during her free time. She loves traveling, living in new cultures, running, dancing, hiking, and eating with people.
