I have mainly been consulting to day-zero startups helping them build MVP's or prototypes for funding.Also, I have been working with a tech bootcamp, developing advanced curriculum and teaching for about a year.

I joined Minerva in its infant stages, and spent 3 years working to build the platform for the suite of products needed for online tertiary level education.My specific role was technical operations lead. I was responsible for service uptime, and maintenance, product architecture and development and dev tools & dev efficiency development.There were many technical problems to solve at Minerva, ranging from in depth webRTC development, to network construction for streaming many live videos to a single location.

While working at Livefyre, my focus changed over time.Initially I was a solo contributor to a new web service API and js client (backend written in Java). It was built to be as highly scalable as possible, since it had to handle a huge load (40 million hits in the first 24 hrs).After that I moved to focus on dev-ops, and helped stabilize the build, deployment and monitoring infrastructure.Then for the last 6 months or so, I worked on the Livefyre Labs team, helping build innovative products to explore new market opportunities. I was a large contributor to the initial writing of the open-source integration client library "Streamhub-SDK" which you can see here: https://github.com/Livefyre/streamhub-sdk/

I joined flickme as the 1st employee in March 2011. My role was to develop a web application to rent and stream hollywood feature films (as a competitor to netflix), with a social focus. I joined Google as a web application engineer allocated in the Financial Data Warehousing team (internal products only). My responsibilities were to support the financial team’s needs by building web applications to facilitate budget planning andreporting. During my tenure, I gained “readability” status (the ability to perform a trusted review on other developers code) in both Java and Javascript (particularly OO based javascript for Google Closure). My project work consisted of 3 main items:• Accrual Polling Tool – For my first project, I was the sole developer on a web application to facilitate purchase order accruals to account for the difference between when the PO’s service is received and when the invoice is received (resulting in millions of dollars of costs that are difficult to track). The project was written in Java with an Oracle database, and was rolled out to about 8000 internal users. It was nominated for a corporate engineer award internally at Google.• Certificate based SSL encryption for database connections – My second project at Google was to secure the database connections between production and corporate machines from Diffie-Hellman based man in the middle attacks. To achieve this I proposed and proceeded to implement a web-of-trust security model, which quickly became a requirement for other teams to follow. For this work, I was granted a peer nomination bonus for the education of other teams.• Prophet – Prophet is a budgeting web application that allows users to manage their marketing budget, forecast and actual spend. The application was written mostly in OO Javascript (Google Closure) with a Java backend (including a lightweight MVC framework I wrote which was later generalized for use across the greater Google developer teams). I was on a team of 4 developers and was responsible for most of the front end of the application.

As a system specialist, I was involved in both product development and implementing mobile marking campaigns for large brands. I was relocated to San Francisco with the founding members to help grow the company and provide experienced technical delivery execution. Some key projects were:• MobileElements - Designed and built "MobileElements", which provides developers an easy set of web services to help produce mobile website, and serve mobile content.• KFC iPhone Application - An iPhone Application on behalf of KFC, for their grilled chicken product release.• Army Nascar - The Army's mobile campaign for consumer involvement at Nascar, to support Army's sponsorship of a Nascar team.
