I am a passionate coach and love helping other riders reach and/or exceed their riding goals. Having studied coaching for the last 30 years and mountain bike skills for the last 22 years I am continually improving my coaching skills. I was a pretty good racer too, in 16 seasons as a pro racer I won a Silver (2002) and two Bronze Medals (2006, 1999) at the UCI World Masters Championships.I coach all mountain bikers with a desire to improve. My skills coaching highlights include coaching riders from top pro racers (World Singlespeed Champion Ross Schnell, Kelli Emmett, National Downhill and 4x Champion Mitch Ropelato, Sarah Kaufman, .....) and 1000's of riders who just want to get better. Our goal is to get all mountain bikers riding safer, smoother, more confidently and having more fun.To achieve my goal I have designed the first (and continuously updated) core skills of mountain biking skills progression. I have spent the last 15 years figuring out the best way to teach riders of all levels and athletic backgrounds how to ride better. We teach you why the skill is important, the goal of the skill, how to do the skill and how the skill should feel. We demonstrate the skill, show you what it should look like and then give you drills that you will use long after the camp to master the skill. All of this is done in a safe environment off trail to optimism your learning (you cannot learn when scared). We then apply these skills on the trail.Learning the correct skills is just half of what we do. What good are better skills if you can't apply them when you most need them?
