Profile bio

About Gene Thomas

I joined Ecology Action in 2002 to help manage Ecology Action’s energy efficiency program efforts and grow the firm’s energy program portfolio. After successfully serving as founding Program Manager for RightLights, Ecology Action's first energy efficiency program, I increasingly took on additional technical roles and am now the Senior Energy Analyst for our Energy Division. In this multi-hat position I provide key research and analysis across our program portfolio and support development of new energy-related programs. Prior to joining Ecology Action, I served as National Director of EnergyCheckup where I managed and coordinated third-party energy efficiency programs for investor-owned utilities in Southern California and Texas. In that capacity I developed energy efficiency proposals to state utilities and federal agencies and helped train over 200 building industry professionals as Certified Home Energy Raters. Previously, I worked for Inspectech Corporation as Director of Recruitment and Special Projects, where I developed and implemented the firm’s first environmental testing services and wrote the company’s first successful energy efficiency grant proposal. Prior to my tenure with Inspectech, I built a successful track record in sales management and training, key account sales, program development, and multi-location retail management.

Listed skills include Energy Efficiency, Energy Audits, Energy, Energy Conservation, and 14 others.
