I moved out of the IT side of Advent to help the services side of Advent, the Advent OnDemand department, on their virtualization projects, and building a private cloud with the major players: VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, NetApp, EMC, Veeam, Dell, and Cisco technologies.

Virtualization evangelist/early adopter from 2005 – 2008. Was the only persons deploying virtualization across the whole company at the time, using the suite of VMware products: ESX, Labmanager, VMware View, Virtual Center. Trained and evangelized VMware virtualization to other IT team members and management.Had major impact and drove initial direction of Advent’s virtualization adoption, until management was trained to take it to the next level.Deployed 25 esx hosts and 450 virtual machines before switching departments within Advent to solely concentrate on building a VMware virtual environment for Advent’s external customer facing SaaS product.Started in a help desk role and worked my way into a server administration role. While on the server team I became the department specialist in VMware ESX 2.5 and 3.X. NetApp Filer NAS and SAN devices. Primarily worked with Microsoft Windows but also touched Solaris and Red Hat Linux. I earned my MCSE 2000 and VCP.
