Worked with the end-users to identify and design a series of online reports for the Ohio Disease Reporting System, that tracked infectious diseases in Ohio. These reports helped the users identify and remove duplicate record entries, and allowed for more accurate reporting to the Centers for Disease Control.Designed and wrote the Oracle stored procedures which the front-end software designers of the Ohio Disease Reporting System used to communicate with the Oracle backend database.

As an integral part of the development team, I designed the reporting sub-system for a trailer truck delivery application that was used by a large automaker. This system generated accurate billing statements between the automaker and each transportation company based on each company’s unique contracts. This system allowed the automaker to effectively manage their delivery yard in order to reduce costs.Designed a solution for a travel agency that allowed their corporate clients to design, save and schedule their own reports. This functionality eliminated the need to hire a resource to build and maintain custom travel reports for each client.

Designed and built software that automated the running and collection of test results on equipment being manufactured by an automation and power technology company. This software replaced an error prone manual collection method and ensured that the test results were available for the purchasing customer.Upgraded a US Mail based report delivery system, to an Internet based delivery system, for a manufacturing management client, which resulted in yearly cost savings. I also worked with the on-site support staff to identify modifications to existing reports that improved the company’s workflow. As a lead developer on a project for a large insurance company, I assigned work to the junior developers and designed the front-end architecture for a system that tracked information about every employed insurance agent. Added additional reports to an economic development tool for a large central Ohio client. The reports helped the client generate lists of commercial properties that contained specific type of gas and electric services for potential commercial buyers.

Designed and wrote the base software system for a new insurance rating product for dwelling and fire coverage. This allowed our customers to offer one more automated product.Developed an application hook that allowed third party insurance software to obtain the rating information generated by the product. This allowed the use of a third party tool to automate the sending of insurance quote data directly to the insurance companies.Maintained existing auto and home insurance rating software packages.
