Teaching PE to children aged 4-11 was a privilege, to be able to influence the athletic development of young people in a safe, consistent environment was a thrill. It allowed me to express my skills that I’d learnt throughout university and also lean on my coaching and personal experience when dealing with children in a sporting environment. I worked very much on the basis of development through self exploration. Interestingly similar to the ethos used in the R66T Academy. After 2 years at the primary school, I took charge of the bike-ability programme across NE Derbyshire and also helped plan and deliver the school games programme for the company. Show less

On arrival at Collegiate, I quickly involved myself in the coaching team. Within two seasons I had coached all age groups from U9’s to U18’s. I was also selected to become the first coach of the SCCC Women’s and Girls section, we took the numbers from 6 in the first session to 30+ by my final session. During the pandemic season and the two following seasons, along with a small group of others, I steered the clubs age groups through both summer and winter seasons. During the pandemic season and the two following seasons, along with a small group of others, I steered the clubs age groups through both summer and winter seasons. The club achieved multiple trophies throughout this period but more importantly, many young players progressed from the youth ranks to the senior teams and representative cricket. In 2023, after 4 seasons of dedicated coaching, I took a step back from all age groups and now advice and assist in the running of the Under 9s and Under 11s. Show less
