George Bartlett FCIS, Hon FIoD He has been a company director for over 40 years. For more than a decade, he was Group Company Secretary of a listed company headquartered in the UK with manufacturing operations in six European countries, serving on the boards of all of its main subsidiary companies. Since 2002, he has been a self-employed consultant. He was a senior tutor for the Institute of Directors for a number of courses including ‘the role of the company director &; the board’, ‘the role of the chairman’, ‘the role of the non-executive director’ and was the lead tutor for the IoD’s Diploma in Company Direction. Between 2008 and 2019, he also delivered training courses for the IoD in Ireland. He has delivered training courses for senior executives of Mubadala Development Company and Etisalat in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Telecom Company in Ryiadh, DEG in Germany ACCA in Pakistan and Logic Management Consultants in Cairo.He was also a NED of two companies in the financial services sector based in London which are subsidiaries of Assurant Inc. (AIZ) and, in October 2009, joined the board of SR Technic (a Mubadala-owned company) which provides services to the aerospace sector and has operations in Switzerland, UK, Ireland and Malta. In these NED appointments, he served on two Audit Committees (chairman of one), and a Nomination and Remuneration Committee.He was UK President and International President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in 1997 and 2000 respectively.In 2017, he was made an Hon Fellow of the Institute of Directors in the UK.
