Synergy Point Alpha (SPA) is a consulting firm that acts as a link between investors and the investment. The team is a collection of independent individuals that I have known during my 30+ years in the investment banking industry. The network is across Canada, and we look at ideas that relate to local markets as well as national and international opportunities. We search for management teams that have great ideas. In addition to the above we curate a weekly blog. Synergy Point Alpha provides diversification and the potential for additional returns through uncorrelated target market exposure. Our Portable Alpha objective is to deliver a risk return enhancement with a defined risk exposure to their beta-yielding assets. We have over 25 years managing Alpha strategies and 8 years managing this program.

We believe it is possible to mitigate the effects of existing interest rate risks by using suitable hedging instruments. Our approach employs a Long-only Multi-Directional Mean Reversion strategy that tactically allocates among a variety of short fixed income treasury bills & bonds (70%) and an Actively Managed long-only Option Strategies (30%). At no time will the fund be exposed to open naked short positions. Risk is defined in absolute terms.
