TCP/IP. Active Directory. ContractorDuties: Use automation tools to install and test new versions of Windows 2000, 2003, XP (32/64 bit) and Service Packs. Used Dell, Compaq, IBM, HP servers and computers. My Test lab consisted of 110 computers/servers in rack mount cabinets, desktops to test networking functions particularly with HTTP (Web) protocol. Daily test builds were installed on servers and client computers then automated stress tests were run against TCP/IP functions creating network loads between server and clients to isolate debug failures and assign them to developers to resolve. Then I would resolve the bug by testing the fix. Required extensive technical knowledge of networks, software, and the ability to capture the problem and persevere against challenges by developers that it is a real bug with the software and not testing error or configuration error. Work environment was noted by its intense workload and ability to quickly make changes at a moments notice. However, clear and precise communication (technical and non-technical) was required during this process to assure resolution and customer satisfaction. Moved the Network lab (500 rack mounted servers and computers) to another location and then back again in 4 months setting up the network, cabling, routers and switches. The scheduled move required a planned 3 day lab outage and which meet the planned down time and return to functionality.

Support via phone and email customers and field engineers experiencing MS Exchange Mail problems. Update Remedy trouble tickets and resolve issue to completion. Configure computer servers (7 Dell Rack mounted servers and 16 Desktop computers) such that Exchange/IIs worldwide bugs can be quickly reproduced and repaired. This enabled customers to be fully operational within a few days. Since this involves changing programming code of Exchange/IIS/Windows, extensive automated testing must be incorporated to insure the fix does not cause additional problems, or cause other problems for worldwide users of Microsoft Products. The configurations often involve third party applications like Lotus Notes, Novell Groupwise, Netscape, BackupExec. I have presented technology talks to our team and attended these presentations to broaden personal/teams knowledge of products, testing methods, or technology changes.
