Dissertation analysed the risk posed to Portuguese coastal industry from IPCC RCP 8.5- predictions of sea level rise. Studying links between environmental issues and anthropogenic development. Current areas include IPCC 5th assessment content and predictions; portrayal and epistemologies within climate science; local rural policies for sustainability; humanitarian vulnerability to hazards and the effects of climate change. Dissertation is studying Cornish fishing industry: socio-economic and environmental balance. Completed field course in California in April 2013 studying alluvial fan formation in the Mojave, and self-directed assessment of Sequoia Sempervirens conservation priorities under future land use pressures.
