Hello. I’m a student at the Haskayne School of business currently studying finance. It is a field that has interested me from a young age and I am excited at the many possible opportunities I can find to grow my personal knowledge and interest in the field. I also have extensive time spent in customer service and relation positions, such as my many years at Starbucks. It was a job that helped me in my personal growth tremendously, and I have it and the company to thank for making me the person and worker I am today. My experience also now includes my past position at Scotiabank. Scotiabank was the perfect evolution for me coming from Starbucks. It is a position that demands many of the same skills I developed as a Barista, but now puts them to a much more intensive use, and calls upon my ability to use judgement to both ensure customer satisfaction, but also not manage and mitigate as much financial risk as possible.With my degree nearing its end, I have now evolved my career from banking to the Oil and Gas field with my position at Cenovus. Space, planning, design and construction fall under the Workplace department. This position is a culmination of all the skills I had previously learned from my other various positions. Cenovus had provided me the opportunity to showcase my technical skills developed through my time at Scotiabank and through my degree, while also allowing me to showcase the various interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills I developed at Starbucks.
